I hope you like my wakeboard size calculator.
More accurate than a simple size chart, this calc lets you know
your size wakeboard to use. Just enter in your specs and
click CALCULATE. Of course you can use any size you
want, this is merely a recommendation.
Shorter boards are easier to turn quicker and spin faster. They are great for
jumps, spins and flips, but may feel unstable at times. Longer boards
make slower turns and are beneficial for easy floatation and more stable in the water.
For one board for the whole family, look for something in the 135-139 range.
In sizing wakeboards, it is better to ride a board that is a little too big than too small. A
wakeboarder with a board that is too short can find it too difficult to get up and stay afloat due to the smaller surface area on the water
-- too strenuous.
There are three major styles of riding.
Freestyle boards tend to be shorter to make them lighter and easier to manuver for skilled riders.
All-around boards are designed to be a happy medium to do it all. They typically are built a little longer to stay afloat easier and make turns more stable in a variety of speeds and water conditions.
Cruizer boards are for those who want a silky smooth ride.
